Studio Daigre

Refined interiors for real life. A French touch.

Philosophy

An approach rooted in care

Studio Daigre is an interior design practice shaped by a French eye for composition and a belief that good design should be lived in, not just admired. My approach begins with attentive listening: understanding how you live, what you’re drawn to, and what makes a space feel truly yours. Each project becomes a home that reflects your personality and rhythms.I design layered, dimensional interiors; rich and nuanced without feeling overwhelming. This can take the form of bold colors and patterns, or a quieter palette built through subtle textures, tonal variations, and carefully composed elements.I focus on creating moments within the space: a reading nook by the window, a welcoming salon, an inspiring corner where everything has its place. In New York’s compact interiors, I embrace an intentional use of space, shaping multipurpose environments that feel fluid, generous, and alive. The goal is always the same: to create spaces that feel refined yet natural, expressive yet effortless, and truly made to be lived in.

Selected Work

A Quiet Transformation

What started as a living room project became a full home transformation.
The intention was to create a calm, cohesive space where everyone could feel at ease, while still having a place of their own.
Each room was shaped with care, balancing shared moments and more personal retreats.
A soft, monochromatic palette runs throughout the apartment, with depth brought through texture, material, and subtle variations.
The result is a home that feels both unified and deeply personal: a quiet refuge within the city.

A Joyful First Home in the City

Designed for a young multicultural couple moving into their first apartment in the city, this project embraces color, texture, and layered materials to create a warm and expressive home.Because the apartment receives little direct sunlight, rich tones and tactile finishes were used to bring depth, softness, and joy into the space. The interiors combine pieces collected across different price points; balancing investment elements, such as the sculptural marble dining table, with more accessible furnishings to create a home that feels curated over time rather than purchased all at once.As a compact New York apartment, every piece was selected with versatility in mind. The drink cabinet positioned at the entrance extends the living space into the corridor while also functioning as an entry console, complete with a mirror that reflects natural light and offers a final pause before leaving home.

About me

A foundation in architecture

I’m François Daigre, founder of Studio Daigre, a French interior designer based in New York for the past two years.I hold a Master’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning, and bring over 12 years of experience working on complex projects at different scales. This background gives me a strong ability to structure ideas, navigate constraints, and translate them into clear, thoughtful design decisions.Throughout my work, I’ve developed a consistent, user-centered approach rooted in attentive listening; understanding how people live, what they need, and what resonates with them.More recently, I spent a year as a designer in a furniture retail store in New York, where I worked closely with over 45 clients to develop layouts, mood boards, and interior concepts. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds and creating meaningful connections during this experience played a key role in shaping my decision to launch Studio Daigre.
